Founded in 1979 by Charles Rackham and acquired by Paul Moore in 1991

Rackham Housefloors Ltd have supplied 175mm pre-stressed concrete floor beams to the Building Industry for more than 30 years.

Rackhams moved into its Head Office building in Mill Street East, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire in 1990 where it remains to this day.

The company manufactures and delivers from three production plants in Cinderford, Gloucestershire, Grantham, Lincolnshire and Featherstone, West Yorkshire.

The geographical spread of plants throughout England, together with a large annual production capacity of 3,600,000 linear metres have been instrumental in the company becoming and maintaining its position of industry leader in the Beam & Block/Poly infill panel market.

Our Products

The standard 175mm deep beam has remained unchanged since its conception.

In 1997 we added the 225mm beam to our product range. This is used where larger spans and higher imposed loadings are needed.

In 2001 we introduced the Poly-Plus System (polystyrene infill panels) designed to specifically complement our floor beams and achieve the 'u' values required by the Code for Sustainable Homes. In 2013 we made significant changes and improvements to our Poly-Plus system to meet revised 'u' value requirements to comply with BS EN 15037-1:2008 and Eurocode 2. The new improved format is the Rackham TS System which replaced the Poly-Plus System.

In 2013 we added the 175mm deep WIDE beam to the range which complements the existing 175mm standard beam and gives greater design versatility.

All beam sections are produced in steel moulds using the wet cast method of production ensuring the best possible quality finish with the minimum amount of camber. Our product range is under constant review to meet the needs of our customers and current Building Regulations.

Rackhams continue to maintain, sustain and improve their working environment and after many years of dealing with respected consultants Lincsafe, have engaged our own dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to further achieve this aim.

Rackham Housefloors Ltd attained ISO 14001 certification in 2010 and are committed to maintaining the requirements of the standard for the Environment. We are constantly looking at ways to "BE EVEN MORE GREEN" by reducing energy usage, reducing and recycling waste.

All the Rackham manufacturing sites and Head Office meet the requirements of BS EN 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems which means that our customers can rest assured that we will meet all their requirements whilst supplying a good quality range of products. Our products are regularly inspected and associated systems audited both internally and by external third parties.
